Wyoming lawmakers pass legislation to ban mandatory disclosure of private keys

Under a law passed by Wyoming lawmakers, state courts cannot compel disclosure of keys to someone’s digital assets, with one small exception.

The bill passed the Wyoming House by a 41-13 vote on February 15, just one day after the Wyoming Senate passed it 31-0. If Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signs the bill into law, it will take effect July 1.
