Following the success of the flawless merger event last month, Ethereum’s core developers began turning their attention to the following upcoming upgrade of the network: Shanghai.
On Friday, Ethereum announced the launch of a pre-Shanghai pilot network called “Shandong.” Shandong will serve as a testing ground for many Ethereum (EIPs) improvement proposals, which Ethereum’s primary developers will build, modify and eventually reduce to the exact number of updates that will be included in Shanghai when it is eventually deployed.
Many Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) will be tested in Shandong before they are built and modified and then narrowed to the small number of upgrades that will be included in Shanghai when they are eventually operated.
