Nokia, one of the pioneers in the development of consumer-grade mobile phone systems, now holds the view that the metaverse will lead to a decline in the use of phones.
VR headsets and AR glasses will be used to power these metaverse experiences, enabling users to engage in activities. In the second half of the decade, metaverse experiences will supersede phones as the main means of communication, while phones will still exist.
