Jay Clayton, the former chairman of the SEC, realized that reaching an agreement on US encryption regulation seemed difficult for everyone involved, but urged the government to begin the process.
In an editorial published by the Wall Street Journal on August 25, Clayton stated that despite the uproar, the government must first recognize the advantages of the financial system’s cryptocurrencies before imposing any regulations.
