Elon Musk claimed that SBF had given the Democrats over $1 billion in donations, and he questioned what happened to the money.

Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of the insolvent cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is accused by Elon Musk of giving the Democratic party over a billion dollars to help them win the elections.

Will Manidis, CEO of healthcare AI platform Science, referred to SBF’s contributions to politicians as “one of the highest ROI trades of all time” in a recent Twitter discussion since they prevented him from going to jail for stealing more than $10 billion.

SBF is known to have given $10 million to support Carrick Flynn, a failed Democratic candidate for a congressional seat in Oregon, while also giving $5.2 million to Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
It’s also noteworthy that SBF stated in May that he may donate anywhere between $100 million to $41 billion to the forthcoming US Presidential Campaign in 2024. Even so, he referred to the $1 billion as a “soft ceiling.”

I’m not sure how much more than that. It genuinely depends on what occurs. It totally depends on who is running for what office. […] Yes, I believe that’s a good thing to consider as a kind of… Although I would rather not use the term “hard ceiling,” I would describe it as rather soft.

Naturally, that was prior to FTX declaring bankruptcy.
Additionally, SBF acknowledged that while some of his contributions to the Democrats were made public, those to the Republicans were not.
