By the end of 2022, the Indonesian government intends to launch a “crypto stock” exchange.
The exchange will feature businesses in the digital asset sector, including some of the 25 exchanges that the Indonesian financial agency Bappebti has licensed.
Given the increased interest in digital currencies, the Indonesian government views the exchange as a way to protect consumers, citing remarks made by Deputy Trade Minister Jerry Sambuaga.
