The Shanghai upgrade, a hard fork planned for March 2023, will be tested on a new network launched by Ethereum developers on January 11, 2023.
The developer’s new testing environment is referred to as “devnet 2,” as it follows “devnet 1,” which was published in November 2022.
According to recent data, the network reached a milestone with over 500,000 Ethereum validators the day after devnet 2 was released.
