Alphabet is the world’s largest blockchain-friendly investor pumping $1.5 billion into the sector

Although blockchain technology is still growing, some well-established companies are pouring money into different projects that offer specific use cases.

In fact, Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) invested $1.56 billion in blockchain companies between September 2021 and June 2022 through four rounds, ranking first among publicly listed companies investing in the sector, according to research published by Blockdata on August 11.

During this period, Blackrock (NYSE:BLK) invested in three rounds worth $1.17 billion, followed by banking giant Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) with $1.1 billion in two rounds. Elsewhere, electronics giant Samsung leads in the number of funding rounds at 13 with $979 million, while Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) is fifth with $698 million.
