Pew Research Center: 49% of Americans are familiar with NFTs

Nearly half of Americans showed awareness of non-replaceable codes (NFTs), according to a survey by the Washington-based Pew Research Center.

According to the report:

“About half of US adults (49%) say they heard at least a little about non-replaceable codes, including 11% heard a lot. But only 2% of Americans say they bought NFT. ”

Pew Research Center also noted that investment and awareness in NFTs varies based on demographic factors, especially age and gender. The study noted:

“Men are 22 percentage points more likely than women to say they have heard of NFTs. 69% of adults aged 18 to 29 say they have heard at least a little about NFTs, compared to 56% of those aged 30 to 49 and 36% of those aged 50 and above. ”

The proportion of Americans who heard about NFTs was also different based on income levels, race and ethnicity. For example, Asian Americans took the lead on NFT consciousness at 66%, followed by white, Latino and black adults at 49%, 48% and 38% respectively.

Although there are a large number of adults in the United States depicting NFT consciousness, nearly half of those who invested in cryptocurrencies have shown disappointment in the performance of cryptocurrencies.

The report stated that:

“Of the 16% of U.S. adults who said they invested, traded or used cryptocurrency such as bitcoin or ether, 46% reported that their investments were worse than they expected.”

However, 15% of Americans stated that they were satisfied with their crypto investments because they performed better than expected.

The Pew Research Center conducted the survey between July 5 and 17 this year and sought to find out why Americans entered the encryption space. For the most part, diversification and a way to make money were required.

Meanwhile, 15% of the Indian population between the ages of 18 and 60 have already slowed down the crypto space, according to a recent study by cryptocurrency exchange company KuCoin
